Dante Gabriel Rossetti
1828–1882
Rossetti was a poet, painter and one of the founders of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. His wife Elizabeth Siddal often modeled for him. In Beata Beatrix, his memory of her joined his longstanding interest in Dante’s poetry.
