Elisabeth Louise Vigée Le Brun

The daughter of painter Louis Vigée grew up in Paris and joined the Académie de Saint-Luc in 1774. Marie Antoinette became a major patron. Admitted to the French Academy in 1783, Vigée Le Brun traveled and worked through Europe and Russia from 1789 to 1805.
