Master of the "Isarda" Bhagavata Purana

This conventional name identifies an unknown painter associated with a mid-sixteenth-century Bhagavata Purana manuscript. The museum places it in the Delhi-Agra region. Its drawing retains earlier northern Indian practices, while some features approach the work of early Mughal workshops. The artist's personal identity remains unknown.
