Jan van Eyck

Active from 1422, died 1441

Van Eyck is documented at John of Bavaria's court in The Hague in 1422 and in Philip the Good's service from 1425. In 1428 he traveled to Portugal to paint Philip's prospective bride Isabella. His patrons also included nobles, clergy and merchants.
