Wang Hui

Wang Hui directed the production of twelve monumental scrolls recording the Kangxi Emperor's southern tour of 1689. The court commission required cities, roads and ceremonies across an extensive territory. Some locations were reconstructed from maps and prints. He painted Mount Tai without having visited it himself.
